The 2022-23 NHL regular season is nearly complete – with a little more than two weeks left on the schedule before the April 14 end date. In the meantime, teams will clinch playoff spots, vie for positioning or, simply, look forward to the draft and next season as they get eliminated from contention.

As far as the standings go, the Boston Bruins are running away with the Presidents’ Trophy, which is given to the team that ends the regular season with the best overall record. The Colorado Avalanche, who posted 119 points last season, are looking to repeat as Stanley Cup champions, though they are in a battle to win the Central Division. As of this writing, the Eastern Conference has seen five teams (Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes, New Jersey Devils and New York Rangers) clinch playoff spots, while the West has none.
