Portland Thorns legend Tobin Heath is on the move again.
The 33-year-old was an important piece to the USA’s World Cup success both in 2015 and 2019. The Morristown, NJ native has scored 31 goals and 41 assists across 177 senior team appearances.
Heath joined the Portland Thorns in their inaugural season in 2013 and helped lead the Thorns to two NWSL titles (2013, 2017) and an NWSL Shield. The three-time NWSL Best XI selection (2016, 2018-19) also set a new NWSL record for the most assists in a single season (10) in 2016 while with the Thorns.
Back in November, Heath’s NWSL time with the Thorn’s officially came to a close when she was selected in the NWSL Expansion Draft by Racing Louisville FC.
Signing with Arsenal will fulfill a dream for Heath. It is no secret that she is a massive supporter of the club. Just take a look at her Twitter feed.
It has been a busy summer for Arsenal Women. Over the past few months, they have added a handful of international stars such as Nikita Parris, Mana Iwabuchi, Frida Maanum and Simone Boye Sorensen. By adding a world class caliber player in Heath, Arsenal will surely compete for the league championship for years to come.
